The Essence of Modularity
Modularity is at the heart of our robotic design philosophy. By developing components that can be easily configured and reconfigured, we provide a foundation upon which integrators can build systems tailored to their unique applications. This approach not only enhances flexibility but also ensures that our robots can adapt to a wide array of inspection environments.
See what Craig Senych, General Manager for Eddyfi Robotics, had to say on the topic here.
ICON™ 5: The Software Backbone
A pivotal element in our modular ecosystem is the ICON™ 5 software. Designed to seamlessly integrate with various robotic configurations, ICON offers a versatile solution for diverse inspection needs. Its plugin architecture allows for the extension of control and operational capabilities, enabling integrators to develop custom functionalities without altering the core application. For instance, in a recent project, a robotic arm was added to a VersaTrax™ OnSpec custom crawler. Through the development of specific software plugins, advanced kinematic capabilities were achieved, facilitating precise control of the robotic arm beyond basic joint movements. Another use case is demonstrated in, “How to Safety and Efficiently Retrieve Foreign Material from Nuclear Reactor Fuel Pools”.
VersaTrax™: A Testament to Modular Design
Our VersaTrax™ track-based crawlers exemplify the power of modularity. Engineered with a modular design philosophy, these inspection crawlers are built to withstand the rapidly evolving demands of various industries. Each component is designed for easy integration, allowing for the creation of custom configurations that address specific inspection challenges. This design ethos ensures that our equipment can navigate complex environments, enter confined spaces, and operate efficiently under harsh conditions.
The P-Series, I-Series, Y-Series, and M-Series crawlers are designed to accommodate the same components in different orientations to enable mobility in various environments. Although provided as standard products they are a testament to how Eddyfi Robotics components can be utilized in varying configurations for applications ranging from small diameter pipeline inspections to magnetically enabled tank inspections.
Empowering Integrators
By providing modular components and a robust software platform, we empower integrators to develop bespoke solutions that meet their clients' unique needs. Whether it's integrating additional sensors, customizing control interfaces, or developing entirely new functionalities, our modular approach offers the flexibility and scalability required in today's dynamic industrial landscape.
At Eddyfi Robotics, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in industrial inspection.
